Day 1: Arrival Nairobi

On arrival in Nairobi, you shall be met by one of our esteemed guides. You shall be transferred to Wilson Airport where a chartered light craft will be in waiting for the 1hr flight to Samburu Airstrip.
Optional: Dependent on the guests’ arrival time at JKIA, optional accommodation will be arranged for in one of the stylish city hotels, preferable with near proximity to the only National park in the city, Nairobi National park.

Day 2: Samburu Kalama Conservancy

The short drive from the Airstrip to the Lodge will give you a taste of what to expect in Kenya’s best kept conservancy. Settle in at the Saruni Samburu, refresh and prepare for the day and night game drives in Kalama Conservancy exploring over 200,000 acres of pristine wilderness. Enjoy bush meals, guided walks, picnics, Samburu cultural visits. Enjoy sundowners with a breathtaking view.

Day 3: Samburu National reserve

Early morning game drive into Samburu National Reserve to seek out the ‘Samburu Special Five’: the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy zebra, the beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich and the gerenuk, all rare species that occur only in this part of the country, and look for its well known larger wildlife including elephants, lion and leopard. Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading back to the lodge to relax for the afternoon.
Evening game drive in Kalama Conservancy, the 200,000-acre private wildlife conservancy in which Saruni Samburu is located, ending with a bush dinner under the stars in the middle of the wilderness, and a night drive back to the lodge. The Samburu warriors dancing, candles and fire under the vast African skies, make this a truly magical experience, and one of the highlights of your stay.

Day 4-5: Saruni Samburu

Early morning breakfast and game drive; Arrive at the Saruni Rhino for lunch and settling in.
Saruni Rhino in the Sera Community conservancy offers the first rhino tracking experience in East Africa: an amazing walking safari that provides a uniquely thrilling adventure, but also allows our guests to actively contribute to the protection of this iconic species.
Spend the day hiking and tracking the endangered black rhinos, allowing you to enjoy the magnificence of these dinosaur age giants in the wild. The trek also helps spread awareness to the savage poaching that threatens the rhinos with extinction.

Day 6: Samburu to Masai Mara

After an early morning breakfast, take a game drive for one last view of the Samburu landscapes and wildlife en route to the Airstrip for a midday flight to the Masai Mara.
The savannah of the Mara offer the largest variety of wildlife anywhere in Kenya. The Mara is packed with activity throughout the day, the hunts are on just after midday, squabbles, in-fighting, pride take overs and mating rites matches are sure to capture your attention.

Day 7: Masai Mara

Walk through the valleys and plains surrounding Saruni Mara, accompanied by a vehicle, or a game drive up to the top of Kilileoni, the highest mountain in the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem – led by your skillful and knowledgeable Maasai guides.
In the afternoon you will discover more of Mara North and its neighbouring conservancies and experience first-hand what makes the Mara one of the most exciting wildernesses in the world.
Weather permitting, experience a bush dinner in the middle of nature under the vast African sky, with Maasai warriors singing and dancing around the fire.

Day 8: Optional Ballooning Masai Mara

Very Early morning breakfast. A truck shall be in waiting to pick up the guests for a balloon ride over the Mara plains.
Ballooning in the Mara makes for a spectacular family activity which allows minimal interference to the wildlife. Pack a binoculars or a high zoom lenses for a bird’s view of the hunts and follow the action stealthily.

Day 9: Masai Mara to Nairobi

Take a flight back to Wilson Airport Nairobi.
